Providing In-person and Online Sessions

I have successfully helped men with such issues as:
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Relationship problems
  • Finding meaning and purpose in life
  • Career pressures
  • Stress management
  • Midlife changes

I offer my clients an opportunity to discuss their difficulties in a safe, confidential setting.

In my work, my clients have the freedom to choose their own goals and discuss concerns from their own personal perspectives. I offer a pragmatic approach to therapy that avoids a focus on dysfunction, pathology, or diagnostic labeling.

In the many years I have been a therapist, I have found that men want to move beyond just discussing their feelings. They want practical actions steps to help them create a compelling future for themselves. Men generally seek thought-provoking feedback which can aid them in discovering their own solutions to their problems.

Therapy for men can be a powerful tool for personal growth, emotional healing, and developing a stronger sense of self. It involves exploring one’s beliefs, values, and connection to something larger than oneself.  This type of therapy can help men foster emotional awareness and resilience, find direction in life, and expand a sense of balance and peace.

My therapy style is engaging and direct, with a good dose of humor in the mix. I offer a collaborative, strengths-based approach that is tailored to each person’s unique individual needs and circumstances. My goal as a therapist is to provide a supportive, compassionate space for my clients and encourage them in finding innovative ways in which they can access more creativity, wisdom, and their own inner healer.

Personally:

I am a middle-aged man living in the Southeastern United States. I have been married, divorced, re-married, and raised step-children. I am honored to come from a family lineage of farmers, teachers, military, law enforcement, school bus drivers, and land surveyors.  As I grow older, I find more enjoyment in the simple things in life, such as tending to my backyard plants, enjoying a good cup of tea, and studying Zen and Taoist Philosophy.
